A lot of us will be familiar with the concept of enemies staying still until you’ve made your move in roguelike games such as Sproggiwood or Pixel Dungeon. But has it been done in a first-person shooter? If not, it has now! The SUPERHOT Team have put together an utterly unique piece of gaming unlike anything we’ve ever played. Not only have they managed to pull off a gaming experience filled with entertaining gameplay, but they’ve also combined it with an engaging and mysterious storyline. SUPERHOT Gameplay and Review on YouTube
SUPERHOT is a completely unique game, in that it’s a first-person shooter but enemies only move when you do. By standing still, you can pinpoint the location of your foes and plan which way to move so as to avoid bullets they’ve fired. After you’ve completed a stage, you are presented with a replay of your actions at normal speed, making your play look even cooler than the best quick-scoper you’ve seen on the internet.
Stun your enemies and steal their weapons by engaging in hand-to-hand combat, throwing objects at them such as vases and sculptures, or by swinging a baseball bat or katana at their extremities.
Get to the bottom of a mysterious story that’ll more than likely force you to quit. To help keep you occupied, play with and discover awesome ASCII games, artwork, videos and more in amongst the main menu of SUPERHOT.
Test your reflexes and awareness in the Endless and Challenge modes and upload your replays to killstagram.com.
Overall, SUPERHOT is a great game unlike any we’ve ever seen before. The story is engaging and the gameplay is challenging and extremely quirky.
