Final Fantasy XV Reclaim Your Throne Trailer
The Final Fantasy series from Square Enix has been an utter joy to play over the years. I first started with Final Fantasy VII, then worked my through the rest of the games starting from Final Fantasy I until the release of Final Fantasy VIII and beyond.
As time passed, we saw Final Fantasy evolve from 2D 8-bit graphics to superb 3D in Final Fantasy XIV. With the upcoming release of FFXV, I think we’re all going to be mighty impressed with where the series has ended up.
Final Fantasy XV Story
An armistice is declared between the nations of Lucis and Niflheim. The cold war has ended and peace is finally spreading.
Prince Noctis has agreed to marry the Lady Lunafreya of Tenebrae, but after Noctis leaves on the day of the official treaty being signed, Niflheim invades Lucis, stealing the nation’s crystal and attacking Solheim, Tenebrae and Accordo.
It’s up to Noctis and his companions to retrieve the crystal and put an end to Niflheim’s forces.
The Characters
There are a wide range of characters to be found in Final Fantasy XV, all superbly voiced by talented voice actors. Please enjoy reading about a few of the characters below.
Noctis Lucis Caelum (ノクティス・ルシス・チェラム)
Heir to the Lucian throne. Noctis is the Crown Prince and defender of Lucis who wields spectral weapons forged from thin air. Noctis came to have these powers from an incident in his youth.
Not sure why, but he reminds me of Zack Fair from Final Fantasy VII…
Gladiolus Amicitia (グラディオラス・アミシティア)
A brother-like figure to Noctis who belongs to the noble Amicitia family. His family have long served as guardians of Lucis’s royalty. His inordinate strength lets him stand ready to keep his friends and loved ones from harm.
Gladiolus looks kind of like a mix of Zell Dincht from FFVII & Jecht from FFX.
Ignis Scientia (イグニス・スキエンティア)
Ignis, having been raised alongside Noctis, was to be his adviser. An incredible tactician, Ignis had an intensive education as a child. This helped him become resourceful and develop the composure required for his role.
Doesn’t he remind you of Albert Wesker? Hopefully he’s not secretly evil.
Prompto Argentum (プロンプト・アージェンタム)
Prompto somehow became a friend of Noctis despite being from a lower social class. He and Noctis became fast friends as teenagers but when tragedy befalls Lucis, Prompto finds himself out of his depth.
He must have watched Final Fantasy Advent Children for that haircut.
