Aesthetic Charm
Using graphics similar to those seen in older Mortal Kombat games where real actors are used, Bad Ass Babes gives each babe their own special animations for everything from walking to attacking and using their special moves. A lot of effort has been put into these animations, not just by the developer but by the girls themselves. Level environments, enemies and NPCs all have their own animations too, which shows how much love and care has gone into the graphics.
I wasn’t expecting much from the music, but when you consider what this game is, I don’t think anyone would be playing it for the ears to enjoy. Well perhaps except for the female screams heard when some enemies are defeated.
Final Thoughts
This Aussie made indie game is incredibly crass, is going to and has already offended many people, but provides a nice little taste of old school side scrolling beat ’em ups. Fighting doesn’t really require much effort, and seeing as you have so many lives when playing through the story mode, you’ll never really have to worry about dying.
In a world full of thousands of different match four clones, bland pixel graphic games and generic FPSs, Bad Ass Babes comes across as being quite unique. Of course it’s not for everyone, but what is?
If you reminisce about the days of yore where you’d sit down in front of the TV and smash face in Streets of Rage, or if you’re just a pervert wanting to see some crude animations involving breasts, you might have a relatively good time playing Bad Ass Babes. Either way, perhaps you should give it a go. There looks to be more coming in the form of extra babes, more story and new sexy moves in the future, so stay tuned to the Steam page!
