Armello Review

Aesthetic Charm

Armello Gameplay

Absolutely gorgeous visuals.

Having already talked up the beguiling intro movie, I feel I don’t need to say much more. However, the in-game graphics of Armello are also just as charming. The graphics, whilst traversing the play-field of Armello, are drawn in lovely 3D and whilst pitting yourself against others in combat, your character and the enemy’s are depicted in the elegant 2D style you see in the intro movie.

Musically, Armello reminds me of Heroes of Might and Magic 2. The soundtrack is very fantasy-themed and includes resonances of string instruments and haunting vocals. During the day of Armello, chirps of birds can be heard, and depending on how far in you’ve got your camera zoomed, you might hear frogs croaking en masse.

Final Thoughts

Armello is one of the most charming games I’ve ever played and has such a unique play-style that you’ll probably not find anywhere else.

Armello King

Finish him!

The graphics are superb, the story is incredibly well written (and leaves you wanting more, more, MORE) and there are so many ways to win a game that you’ll be engaging your inner strategist just enough to keep your brain trained.

My one qualm with Armello is that the Prologue is so short. I really want to see more story! But apart from that, I feel Armello is an absolute must play for strategy game fans or just gamers in general.

You’d better start downloading it now or else… *shakes fist*
